There are several types of face washes available in the market. But you need to make sure that you choose the one which is meant especially for dry skin. If you use the face wash meant for the moist skin, your skin will become even flakier. While buying the face wash, make sure you check the label and buy the one which is for dry skin. Using the dry skin face wash will help give the needed moisture to the skin. But you also need to make sure that you wash your face with the face wash at least 5-6 times a day. Regular washing of your face will keep it hydrated and you will be able to get rid of flakiness after some time. Don’t wash your face neither with cold water or hot water. Instead, use lukewarm water to wash your face whenever possible. Also, if you have a flaky skin, make sure that you don’t rub your face dry after washing it. Always pat it dry.
Use The Moisturizer Generously
Dry skin needs moisture and it can be best supplied to the skin pores by the moisturizers. Therefore, make sure that you are regularly applying moisturizer to your face. It is highly recommended that you apply the moisturizer right after washing your face. Therefore, you may need to carry a moisturizer and face wash with you all the time. Flaky skin is a special condition and you will need to make special efforts to keep it healthy.

There are several types of cleansers in the market but you should buy the one which is especially made for dry skin. Sometimes cleanser can work better than the face wash or the soap. Cleanser can penetrate deeper in the pores and provide necessary nutrients to the skin cells.

There are many ways to get rid of the flaky skin using self-remedies. However, if none of the remedies are working and the flakiness of the skin is not going, then it is better that you stop using them and consult a dermatologist. The face washes and the moisturizers are made for general use but your skin may have a certain condition which may require customized remedy. Only a dermatologist will be able to tell what special treatment is required for your skin. There are some medicated moisturizers and face washes available that can help you immensely in getting rid of the flaky skin. But these items can only be recommended by a dermatologist and they may not be available over the counter.
