How To Get Rid of Large Pores

Large Pores


Steam treatment is very effective in cleaning the skin pores and shrinking them. Boil some water in a pot and add some herbal tea or tea tree oil in it. After boiling, remove it from the stove. Place your face above the pot and drape a towel over your head to keep the steam directed to you face. Expose your face to steam for about 15-20 minutes and then wash your face with cold water. Steaming cleanses the pores and removes the excess oil from the skin, and minimizes the pore size.

Cleansing clay mask

Homemade clay mask is an effective solution for getting rid of enlarged pores. You’ll need bentonite clay, aloe vera gel, chamomile infusion, baking soda, vitamin E oil and tea tree oil. Mix ¾ cup of clay with half a cup of aloe vera gel. Add two tablespoons of chamomile infusion, a quarter teaspoon of vitamin E oil, half teaspoon baking soda and a few drops of tea tree oil in it. Mix it properly and apply this creamy mask to your face after washing it with cold water. Rinse off the mask after half an hour. Applying this mask at least twice a week will show significant improvement.

Almond mask

Almonds have a history of solving skin care problems. Soak ten almonds in water overnight. Peel them off in the morning and grind the almonds. Add some fresh yogurt to the almonds and make a paste. Apply this almond mask on your face for half an hour and wash it off when it dries. This mask not only reduces the pores but also improves skin complexion. Use it once a week to get consistent results.

Baking soda paste

Baking soda minimizes the size of the pores and is very effective in fighting acne. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda in equal amount of water to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste on to the pores and massage gently for about 30 seconds. Rinse it off with cold water. Using this paste every night will remove the dead skin cells and shrink the pores.

Lemon and pineapple juice

Lemon has magical healing properties for the skin. Mix some lemon extract with pineapple juice. Soak a piece of cloth in the juice and place it on your face firmly for about one minute. Wash your face with lukewarm water after applying this juice. Fruit juices contain natural enzymes which purify the skin pores and make your skin glow. Lemon helps in shrinking the skin pores to brighten your skin.

Cucumber paste

Cucumber has a cool effect on the skin and acts as a toner for the enlarged pores. Take a fresh cucumber and blend it. Add some benzoin in it and a cup of rose water. Mix it thoroughly and refrigerate it for about an hour. Apply the cool mixture to your face with a cotton pad and wash it after 15 minutes. It will brighten your skin and reduce the pore size if used regularly.

Aging and exposure to sunlight, both contribute a lot toward enlarging the size of skin pores, making it look dull. It doesn’t only make the skin vulnerable to bacterial attack but also affects your appearance badly. Pore enlargement is not reversible but the above mentioned masks and pastes are very effective in shrinking the pore size to make your skin glow.
