How To Give Yourself A Pedicure

There are many people with dry, sore feet that simply cannot afford to go to the nail salon each and every time they want to get a pedicure. Sure, they may enjoy having nice feet, but it gets pricey after a while. There is good news! You can give yourself a pedicure at home and it is actually quite easy. If this sounds like a good idea, you’ll want to gather up the tools you will need and you will be set to start the at home pedicure process.

What You’ll Need

You won’t need much to give yourself a great at home pedicure. You will need to have a large basin, however so that you can soak your feet. Fill the basin up with some hot water  and you can add some Epsom salts to take any pain you may have away. Bath salts will work just as well. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice to the water and some essential oils, as well as some foot wash of your choice. This will make your feet feel amazing. You should also have some nail clippers, a nail file, some nail polish and remover if you need it, cuticle cream, a foot file, a pumice stone, a loofah and finally some great moisturizing lotion. When you have all of these things gathered up, take your basin with your soak in it and have a sit down.

What To Do

Once you soak your feet, you will want to start to trim your nails. It’s best to do this after soaking because you can push your skin back easier, but you can do it before if you want to. When your feet are still wet, you will want to give them a good going over with the pumice stone or the foot file to get all of the dead skin off. Be sure not to hurt yourself or try and take too much skin off. After you get the dead skin off, it is highly important for you to moisturize your feet. Massage some good lotion into them and make sure it is absorbed. You can then get the nail polish you chose and paint your toenails. This is a nice touch, no matter what season it is.

As you can see, there is no real need to head to the nail salon each and every time you want to get a pedicure. Pedicures do feel amazing and they are something you can do easily at home with things you probably already have. Take a look around and gather up the materials you’ll need. Remember to start out with a great foot soak and in no time at all, you will have feet that look like you get a pedicure at the salon every day. No one has to know that you do it at home. That’s your secret to keep! Good luck with your pedicure.
