How To Slim Your Face With Yoga

There is no magic potion available to slim your face down and make you look younger. Be it the laugh lines around your mouth or the crow’s feet, you can now choose to eliminate them with yoga. Read on to catch up with some simple and effective yoga poses to slim your face.

1. Lion Pose – Simhasana

This is the most widely advised yoga pose for any facial issues. Be it slimming, puffy eyes, or crow’s feet, its solves it all. The muscles are toned, thereby slimming down the face.

How to do:

  1. Sit down on the mat or floor in a comfortable seated posture.
  2. Keep the spine erect, head and neck relaxed.
  3. Lean forward slightly, keeping the spine aligned, and place the palms on the floor.
  4. Take a deep inhalation, but do not swallow the air. Just stick out our tongue, towards the chin.
  5. Drop open your jaw.
  6. Tense the fingers.
  7. Inhale with the nostrils.
  8. Exhale via the mouth roaring like a lion.

Repeat 10 times,

2. Jalandhara Bandha – Chin Lock

This eliminates the fat from your overly chubby face and gives a fabulous definition to the facial musculature. It tones the facial muscles, restructures the muscles of your jaw line, and even helps in getting rid of that dreaded double chin.

How to do:

  1. Sit down on the yoga mat in a comfortable seated pose of your choice, preferably cross legged.
  2. Keep the spine straight, while head and neck stays relaxed.
  3. Let the hands rest on the thighs, the thumb and index fingers touching each other in Gyan mudra.
  4. Inhale and lift your shoulders towards the ears.
  5. Bend your neck in such a way that your chin rests on the chest or rests between collar bones.
  6. Hold the breath till you feel comfortable.
  7. Lift your chin up.
  8. Exhale via the nostrils.
  9. Relax your head and neck.

This completes one round of Jalandhara Bandha. Do 5 such rounds. Just ensure that you are practicing this on empty stomach for better benefits.

3. Smiling Fish Face

The name says it all. You have to shape your mouth like a fish. The good news is that your laugh lines vanish, plus you will be bestowed with a toned face.

How to do:

  1. Sit down on the yoga mat in a comfortable seated pose of your choice, preferably cross legged.
  2. Keep the spine straight, while head and neck stay relaxed.
  3. Pursue the lips slightly while smiling at the same time.
  4. Suck in your cheeks in such a way that you squeeze them forcefully into the hollows your face has.
  5. Hold the posture for 10 deep breaths.
  6. With the last exhalation, come back to the starting pose.

This completes one round. Do 10 such rounds.

4. The Double Chin Toner

Tone your double chin while giving your face a better look with this chin toning facial yoga.

How to do:

  1. Sit down on the yoga mat in a comfortable seated pose of your choice, preferably cross legged.
  2. Keep the spine straight, while head and neck stays relaxed.
  3. Inhale and tilt your head backward to point your chin towards the ceiling.
  4. Drop the lower jaw and then move up allowing your lips to touch softly.
  5. Hold the posture for 5 deep breaths experiencing the stretch on the neck.
  6. Exhale and release the neck.

This completes one round. Practice 10 such rounds, pausing for 3 rounds of deep breathing in between.

5. The High Cheekbone Yoga

Raise your cheeks and tone it with this high cheekbone yoga.

How to do:

  1. Sit down on the yoga mat in a comfortable seated pose of your choice, preferably cross legged.
  2. Keep the spine straight, while head and neck stays relaxed
  3. Inhale and suck the cheek completely in, letting the facial muscles go inward.
  4. Pout your lips.
  5. Hold the breath and hold the posture for about a count of 20.
  6. Exhale and release the facial muscles.

This makes one repetition. Do 10 such times.
