Gently massage this paste onto the scalp. Massage for 2-3 minutes. Don’t overdo the massage. Apply an effective conditioner before washing this natural shampoo off. Rinse thoroughly. Repeating the procedure once a week will offer visible results within a month. You will notice your hair looking shinier and bouncier, and feeling softer.

Shikakai Hair Oil for Long Hair

Besides being used as a shampoo, you can also prepare Shikakai oil. Application of this organic oil will ensure noticeable results within a few weeks. To prepare this oil, mix Shikakai powder with 1/2 cup of any base oil. This can be olive oil, avocado oil, almond oil or coconut oil. Make sure the container is airtight and properly sealed to prevent the oil from leaking out. Shake the container vigorously to mix the ingredients thoroughly.

Place this container in a cool dark place. Allow it to rest for at least 3 weeks. Just remember to shake it vigorously couple of times a day. This will prevent the powder from settling at the bottom. Periodically shaking the container will also help the ingredients blend properly. After 3 weeks, your Shikakai oil is ready for use. Use this oil at least three times a week to get desired results.

Shikakai Mask for Long Hair

This is the most common and easiest methods of applying Shikakai for hair growth. Make a paste with Shikakai powder, coconut oil and freshly brewed tea. The consistency of the paste should be like that of natural yogurt. Apply this paste onto your hair and let it stay for 25 to 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

Another way to use Shikakai as a hair mask is adding it to henna. You can add an egg, tea and Shikakai to the henna mixture. Apply and allow it to stay for about 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water. Shampoo your hair the following day.

Apply any of these masks twice a month for strong, shiny and beautiful hair. It would also reduce hair fall by retaining hair moisture.
