How To Get Rid Of Bags Under Your Eyes

May 12, 2011 by

Bags under your eyes could occur for many reasons. Sometimes it could be a result of sleep deprivation, a part of the normal aging process, or bending for long periods of time.

Additional causes of bags developing under the eyes:

  • Health problems- Good examples of health issues that cause under-eye bagginess include Grave’s disease or thyroid problems. Any sickness or disease that causes undo stress on the body could be a culprit.
  • Hormonal changes- Menstruation, menopause, and male changes of life could affect the skin, including certain facial features. The reason why is because once again of stress.
  • Allergies-The eyes might swell up as a result of negative reaction to an environmental pollutant or food allergy. You should also be concerned if you experience worse symptoms such as difficulty breathing, fever, or skin rash.
  • Poor diet and poor nutrition-Not eating the right kinds of foods can cause you to become malnourished. One major concern is lack of essential vitamins and minerals, and of course not eating enough protein or not consuming enough calcium.
  •  Excess stress-This extra stress you experience may be because of lack of sleep or just working too hard. It also may be a by-product of a disease you have or it can be just under extreme emotional distress, and that leads to under-eye bagginess.
  • Genetics-Sometimes the dark circles and bags under the eyes is a result of genetics. It often is related to the aging process.

Removal Instructions

The kind of under-eye bags removal action that works the best in your situation depends on the cause. Various remedies described below are based on certain common instances:

  • For menstruating women-For instance, if bagginess occurs as a result of PMS it can be corrected by eating less salty foods. Drinking green tea may help but be careful because too much liquid can cause water retention and bloating. This liquid retention even occurs under the eyes, just so you are aware.
  • To correct an allergy-If you are experiencing facial swelling or puffiness because of an allergy you might have to start avoiding processed foods. It might take time to find out the cause so you can eliminate it, and this is a process of just going without certain foods for awhile. Your doctor can help you in this case.
  • For stress reduction-One simple tip would be to take a nap, even a short one. You could also try to get more sleep at night or reduce your daily responsibility load. Cold tea bags or slices of cucumbers set on the eyes either at night or in the morning may also help. Relaxation and mediation techniques also could calm you down and reduce puffiness.

More Advice and Precautions

Keep in mind that you can use chamomile tea instead of green to help reduce eye puffiness. However, this is an example of a case in which you need to be careful, because some people are allergic to this herb.

You should also use caution when choosing cosmetic products, which could cause a bad reaction. Another remedy often used to get rid of bags under your eyes is cold water or ice.

How To Get Rid of Chapped Skin

May 11, 2011 by

Getting rid of chapped skin sometimes is a challenge that requires some amount of removal skill. Different removal methods have been tried by different people.

Causes of Chapping

Extreme windy or cold conditions are one common cause of lip chapping. Sometimes intense and dry heat also is a reason for it.

However, there are a number of other reasons chapping occurs. Sometimes infectious bacteria are the reason for this problem, and of course not only extreme heat but too much UV sun rays.

Furthermore, biting or peeling the lips constantly can be a cause. So can eating a poor diet and not drinking enough liquid, especially not drinking enough water.

The Process and Occurrence

A protective shield can cover the skin. However, after some time this shield is not longer able to hold up and this is why the cracking, chapping, and dryness of the skin occurs.

It can happen not only on delicate areas such as the lips but it can also happen on the hands, in between toes and fingers, and on the eyelids. It can happen just about anywhere that not as much oil is produced on the skin.

Corrective Actions

A variety of corrective actions can be taken to help you stop getting chapped skin. For instance, you can stop going out when it is very hot out or you can protect yourself when going out in the cold.
You should also eat a healthy diet rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, calcium, and carbohydrates. Furthermore, it helps to get enough sleep so you can reduce the stress that could lead to lessened skin protection.

Some common treatment options you can use also include as shown below:

  • Create a milk bath or egg/almond paste. Usually all you need is some gram flour and milk for this purpose. You could also try using egg white liquid mixed with one ground almond. These are two very common kinds of home skin-moisturizing remedies.
  • Get adequate Vitamin D. Although you should avoid the noonday sun, a moderate amount of sunlight in the later afternoon or early morning may help. You are advised to wear sunscreen. A Calcium/Vitamin D tablet may also be helpful.
  • Get regular exercise. This will help improve the blood circulation needed to help cleanse your skin from the inside out. It also improves your body’s performance levels in order to keep your skin healthy.
  • Try a saline bath. For extreme chapping problems, this may help you tremendously. First till your tub with water and add about six pounds of rock or table salt. Let it dissolve, and mix it if you need to and then soak in this solution or 20 minutes.

Afterwards, blot of with a towel and then apply an even but moderate coat of almond or olive old on your skin. You can repeat this action occasionally.

Warning! This is only for minor scaling of skin. Cracked skin that has turned into an open wound could result in stinging when salt is used.

  • Apply a home treatment. For instance, you can try a petroleum jelly especially on the rough or cracked areas around your mouth. Apply some kind of moisturizing lotion that has natural oils in it. It seems that for some people taking sulfur helps get rid of certain dryness and cracking problems.

How To Get Rid Of Dead Skin

May 11, 2011 by

The appearance of dead skin can be quite the drag. Learning how to get rid of it can be somewhat of a challenge, but this process is not impossible.

A Quick Intro

Dead skin does not disappear overnight. In fact, this sometimes is a process that can take several weeks or even several months.

It is not just a matter of dealing with dry skin that can be easily corrected, but it also involves getting rid of a color you do not want. This darkened surface area is usually a sign of dead cells, which requires some major changes in the way you take care of these portions of your body.

Two Main Options

You can create a variety of exfoliating solutions. Below are two main options for you that are the best.

  • Use a ready-made microdermabrasion scrub. One popular recommended brand is the Derma E but there are others. This type of cleansing solution helps you remove dead cells that block the new cells from growing.

An added benefit of this feature is the fact that fine lines and wrinkles are removed. Likewise, scars and other marks disappear. It is a natural product made of ingredients such as lime oil, pearl powder, sunflower, and aluminum oxide crystals.

  • Create a homemade honey microdermabrasion (exfoliation) scrub. This can be created using honey, baking soda, lemon, and fine sugar granules. If you want to make your sugar granules into a fine powder you can do so by placing the sugar in a blender for about 30 seconds on high.

Before you start using your homemade microdermabrasion scrub you should wash your face just with plain lukewarm water. After you have washed your face with plain water, you should then dry it off and apply the cream.

You should do so working from your forehead down and out to your cheeks and t-bone area (bridge and sides of nose) using your fingertips. You can use a gentle circular massaging motion when doing so. This creates a balance between gentle and firm rubbing.

Additional home remedies…

  • Make a gentle papaya/pineapple scrubbing solution. You can use papaya and pineapple-based peels to help you remove dead skin. The advantage of using the peels of these fruits is they have in them two active substances called papain and bromelain.

Both Papain and bromelain break down proteins that help remove dead skin cells from the top dermal layer. The papaya and pineapple peels along with two tablespoons of honey can help increase the moisturizing effect of this particular home method.

In order to prepare your gentle fruit peel mixture you should puree all the above ingredients into a blender. While the peels are being pureed you can add honey and mix everything together as thoroughly as possible.

While applying your peel on your face, make sure you avoid the eye area. This mixture should then stay on your face for about five minutes, or only three minutes if you have sensitive skin.

Caution: If you are using this solution for the first time you should leave the mixture on the skin for only one or two minutes to avoid irritation. Then, rinse off the used solution with cool water and then use a moisturizer.

Closing Thoughts

Even though the above techniques often get rid of discolorations you are reminded that none of this is a quick fix. However, you can avoid future onslaught of future darkened skin if you adhere to a variety of healthy skin cleansing methods on a regular basis.

How To Get Rid Of A Big Nose

May 10, 2011 by

Endless numbers of people have a problem with their nose. You are not alone, as even celebrities pay for expensive surgeries and treatments to alter the one they were given at birth.

Not everyone who wants to get rid of a big nose has access to funds for plastic surgery though. However, some improvements on the appearance of this part of your face can still be made right at home.

Make-up Tips

The application of make-up is one of the most common methods used to hide a big nose. The different concealment methods used are further explained below.
Use a foundation-The use of a foundation that is darker what you normally wear along with a blending brush can help make your nose appear smaller. First, you apply your regular foundation to your face.

Then, you use the darker shade strategically on this rather noticeable area of your face. You might want to choose just one side, but you can cover up parts of both sides. It may help to research advanced nasal covering tips to learn more.

Tip: When using foundation for your nasal area try not to use a shade that is far darker than your natural skin. Only a little bit darker is recommended.

Additional cosmetic cover-up tips are shown below:

  • Use a very light or white stick to cover your nasal bones after creating lines on one side of it. A blending brush helps gel the varying shades of foundation.
  • You can use a darker shade to create a contour at the sides of your nose. You can then follow this up by using a lighter-colored cover stick or concealer.
  • If your nose is long as well as big you can use some dark foundation or blusher at the middle of it.
  • A bronzer foundation may do the trick. It has often been used on the top or sides. Your nasal area will look slimmer, and you are likely to look more natural.

An Alternative Method

An alternative method used to get rid of a big nose is to minimizing it by drawing attention away from it. For instance, you can enhance the colors of your eyes, cheeks, and lips.

If your nasal area is wider or larger you should use a darker lipstick. In fact a sheer or shiny lip gloss works wonders on a person who whose nasal area is wider than another person’s.

What not to Do

You are advised to never use a blusher to create a nasal shadow, or a shadow of any kind. It is mainly used for addition of colors. The darker colors are used for contouring and the lighter colors are used for highlighting.

The above tip just given is in fact a general makeup rule of thumb all around. It can be applied as equally to fixing your nose as it would to enhancing the rest of your face.

Additional Advice

Using a double layer of concealer on your face can also conquer one additional problem-dark circles under the eyes. If you tackle this problem it will compliment your nose quite nicely. You can say it is another method of drawing attention away from your nose onto a different part of your face.

How To Get Rid of Dry Hair

May 9, 2011 by

Getting rid of dry hair is sometimes a challenge but it is not entirely impossible. Unless you are in a heavy metal band or you have other reason for this, you probably find this problem to be embarrassing.

Dehydration Issues

People with dry hair usually also have a dry scalp. In fact, scalp dehydration extends from the follicles to the ends.

Other associated problems include excess static cling, frizziness, and itchiness (the scalp). Some people who have a dehydrated scalp also may have dandruff.

Cause

The main cause of dry hair is lack of natural scalp oil production to the crown and temple of the head. It could be because you are not drinking enough water or you are using harmful styling aids or ineffective shampooing products. Washing too often can also be a cause because this is another action that strips away your body’s natural oils.
It could also be because you are eating a poor diet or smoking too much. Drinking too much alcohol can dehydrate you and that can increase chance of scalp dehydration.

All in all, just not taking care of yourself like you should is a major problem. For instance, if you let seborrhea, dermatitis, or eczema go untreated this could result in increased drying of both skin and hair.

Yet another issue that contributes to increased hair dryness is cold, dry air. However hot, dry air can also be a problem, and so can harsh winds.

Correcting Dryness

If you want to get rid of dry hair and scalp you can try a variety of corrective actions. Please view and use one or more of the following relevant tips:

  • Change your shampoo or conditioner. This can make all the difference because the product that is meant for your hair or skin condition would help balance you out. The result is no more dryness.
  • Use moisturizing styling products. Try to find more naturally-based sculpting gels or sprays. Furthermore, try to find products that have natural oils or other moisturizing agents in them.
  • Be careful when using blow dryers, curling irons, etc. You do not want to use them excessively. You also do not want to turn the settings on too high and then burn your scalp or your hair. Try to find irons and styling tools that use as low of a heat setting as possible to create the same result.
  • Change your diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables as well as foods rich in fatty acids and lean proteins can help keep your scalp moist, and thus you should have far better-looking locks. Making sure you are taking in enough essential vitamins and minerals (especially calcium) also is a must.
  • Go to a professional stylist. While you receive a wash, cut, and/or style you may also learn of healthier products to use at home. For instance, you may be introduced to the right kinds of shampoo or hairspray.

The above tips should work well for you. When in doubt you should also consult a medical professional for help.

How To Get Rid Of A Perm

May 9, 2011 by

Perming has long been since become a popular change in hairstyle for people who do not have naturally curly or wavy hair. It is for anyone who wishes to have tighter curls, and for people who wish to have thicker or wavier locks

This is a nice style, but on the other hand sometimes permanent trends come and go. If you do not want your salon-produced curls any more you can learn how to get rid of a perm.

Why Remove?

There are many reasons people may want to get rid of a perm. Maybe it is growing out or the curls you received did not turn out the way you wanted, mainly being too tight.

Either that or you are tired of dealing with frizziness. Several products are available for this purpose. However, maybe you have realized that maintaining your curls is more effort that you bargained for.
If you have tried to spend more time styling it and taking care of it and do not like the way it looks, this may be another reason for removal. Sometimes no amount of teasing and blow-drying gives you the look you were hoping.

This could be for a variety of reasons; such maybe the perming solution did not take very well if you have thin or fine hair. Perming your hair after it has just been dyed could also cause a problem, especially if the dye is metallic-based.

Furthermore, if you have used lighteners it could prevent your permanently-curled hair to turn out the way you wanted. Of course, one major mistake is to not have your hair tested before having it permed. Now maybe you have wasted your money unfortunately and now need to find a way to remove the curls.

Perm Removal

If you want to get rid of a perm it is possible using one of the methods described in this section. Use this advice very carefully and when in doubt you should consult an expert.

Here are some perm removal tips:

  • Go to a professional and have it safely straightened in a salon.
  • Make sure enough time goes by before using any kind of straightening product on your hair. Otherwise undo stress could cause damage.
  • Yet another removal option would be to find a non-chemical straightening product. You can use along with a round bristle brush and a blow dryer. Make sure you read the instructions of the permanent removal product to ensure either use on wet or dry hair.
  • Keep brushing your hair out, or have it cut short to speed up the perm outgrowing process. You can try a variety of scrunching techniques in order to further manipulate the curls until they grow out.

Warnings

Be very careful when using a straightening product as already mentioned. You should also be very careful because it cannot be stressed enough that professional consultation is recommended.

That way you are almost assured of not ruining your hair. Of course, you may not want to go to the same professional who gave you your perm if you really did not like it. Otherwise, you could run the risk of not liking your hairstyle again.

Cold compress-If you are using a compress to get rid of an allergy, a cold compress may be better recommended. The first step is to wet a piece of clothing in cold water and then ring it around your eyes as thoroughly as you can.

May 7, 2011 by

People often are very self-conscious for a variety of reasons. Oftentimes they strive to improve their appearance, and they may need to learn how to get rid of chickenpox scars.

The appearance of these pox scars probably occurs more in children than adults. However, at any age it can be an embarrassment. Therefore, a way to remove this problem immediately is often sought.

Description of Scars

There are many different types of scars. Some are raised while others are flat. As far as chickenpox scars are concerned they are usually what are known as the pitted scars. The severity of the scars may depend on how the chickenpox was treated when the person first was afflicted with this condition.

Treating Scars

Before you try to get rid of chickenpox scars you may just want to wait. Most of this kind of skin blemish will disappear after a few weeks.

The chicken pox scars should go away after a few weeks even without treatment. However, if you notice that the scars are still there you may want to consider one of a variety of treatment methods.

Three primary ways to remove chicken pox scars include as follows:

  • Oral and topical medications-Vitamin E and glutathione are two main treatments of chicken pox scars that have been tried right at home. These two substances have antioxidant properties in them to help keep the skin healthy, and any solution applied to the skin will benefit a user.
  • Herbal-based treatments-A variety of natural remedies with ingredients such as camellia oil and sandalwood oil are used today. Gulbaaz plant seeds made into a past may also be very effective and helpful for the skin. Applying once daily until the scars are gone is ideal.
  • Microdermabrasion-This is a process of exfoliation that helps remove the dead skin cells on the outer surface of the body. As a result, new skin cells are formed and these take the place of the old ones. One popular kind of microdermabrasion treatment is the zinc or aluminum oxide crystal treatments.
  • Laser resurfacing-This method of scar removal helps heal the scarring that takes place on the top and second layers of the skin (epidermis and the dermis). This helps speed up the skin regeneration process necessary to allow scars to heal.

Additional Remedies

A wide array of additional remedies may also be tried that could help remove chicken pox scars. For instance, you could apply vinegar as a healing aid, or you can apply an oatmeal bath recipe. One goal is to lessen or eliminate itching as well as get rid of the ugliness of the scars.

How To Get Rid Of Camel Toe

May 7, 2011 by

Camel toe is the nickname for the vaginal labia majora outline that is visible when a woman wears very tight pants. You may want to get rid of this but you may want a further explanation of what it is and why it happens in the first place.

Description

Usually you notice an opening right in your crotch if you are female. It appears as though your labia are open, which they are.

Camel Toe Causes

The appearance of camel toe happens and women may not even realize it. It can be embarrassing if you are caught in places where camel toe should not be visible.

Oftentimes it is when you are wearing tight clothing. The center of this clothing rides up into the center of your vaginal area and you show off open labia with clothing covering it.
Reasons for camel toe include the following:

  • Very tight leggings worn with short shirts-Your leggings, especially if very tight are the culprit. If you wear very tight pants like this you should really cover it over with a very long shirt. The same is true if you are wearing tights.
  • Too tight of jeans riding up the “crotch”-The problem in this case is especially prevalent when you do not wear underwear. You notice it even more when you do not wear underwear under your jeans. You notice your labia opened up with the jean material riding up the middle of it.
  • Wearing stretch fabrics, such as Spandex or Lycra-Sometimes the riding of the fabric between your labia lips may be a result of weakened fabric. However, for exercise shorts and pants that are too tight it could be a huge problem.
  • Wrong swimsuit sizes. If your swimsuit or bikini bottom does not fit right it can show off your vagina lips right through the material. This may be particularly true if you are wearing nylon or other stretch clothing.

Getting Rid of Camel Toe

The issue of getting rid of camel toe can be resolved in a variety of ways. Some of the most common corrective tips are shown below.

  • Pull out the fabric. If fabric has ridden up your labia just simply use two fingers (preferably your thumb and forefinger) to pull it out from the “crease” of your vagina lips. You could also pull down your pants or shorts from the sides if you are in a public location and cannot place you hand in your private area just now.
  • Adjust your jeans. If denim is your choice of pant material for today make sure your waistline is slightly lower than your hips. You may need to go to the bathroom occasionally to just check that your jeans are not riding up too far in the front.
  • Do not wear such tight clothing. As much as you hate to it might be time to find clothing that is maybe ½ to 1 size larger than currently. Do not hate yourself for this slight weight gain. In the end you will feel better about not having your private “lips” showing.
  • Wear long shirts or sweaters. If you wear a top that is long enough to cover over the front area of your pants (as well as your tight buttocks) it can prevent anyone from knowing you even have camel toe.
