It is necessary for the people living in warm areas to have a fly swatter as there are hundreds of them over there who bring about infestation of the kitchen. This is because insecticide contains many toxins that are hazardous to human health. Inhaling or consuming the food stuffs on which insecticide is sprayed can bring about various respiratory and gastro intestinal problems. A small proportion of insecticide is enough to kill the fruit flies. Thus insecticide should only be used when the situation gets worse.

Fly traps

If you are not used to using insecticide then use fly traps. This not only helps to trap flies but also to kill them. They are less expensive and non toxic as compared to insecticide.

Fly paper

Strips of fly paper come with sweet scent that attracts fruit flies toward it. You just need to place the strip near the food where you find flies and they will stick to it. After it dispose the strip properly.

Bowl and glass traps

This trap makes it easy for the flies to come in but impossible for them to go out.

Hair dryer traps

The hot air coming from the back of the dryer is responsible for the death of the fruit flies. It is the cheapest and easiest way to get rid of the flies.
