Squirrels: prevention is the best way to get rid of squirrels. You can do this by just avoiding them to come near to your or your belongings. Squirrels have got many enemies. If you kill squirrels by poisoning them, the the animals who feed on squirrels will also be killed. So this is not an effective method to get rid of squirrel. All you need to get rid of squirrels is to keep your house clean that is to observe proper sanitation at home. Bird seeds are squirrels favouriate, so do not keep them near your house. If the squirrels do not find enough food near your house they automatically will leave your area without you doing anything.
Gopher: you have two ways to get rid of gopher. You can either use a gopher trap or you can let him feed on something poisonous. Gophers are usually found in tunnels. So you can set up trap there to catch gophers. Trapping is more effective than killing the gopher through poison. Because if you use poison, the other animals that feed on gopher will also die. Thus you may land up killing other animals which you are not supposed to.
Mice: mouse trap is the beat way to get rid of mice or rats. Some people believe that the live traps are more effective. But they are effective only when you have few rats at your home. These method do not work if there are more number of rats at your home. Another way to get rid of rats is to make use of lethal mouse trap. Not only they kill rats but also they are very economical. You can save a lot of money by making use of these traps as they are reusable.
Groundhogs: you will have to make use of fumigant gas cartridge while dealing with groundhogs. All you have to do is to find the places where these groundhogs hide themselves and then spray this fumigant gas into it. You can make use of any gas like carbon monoxide to kill groundhogs. One think I would like to make it clear is that gopher and groundhog are not the same. You can find this difference by their burrows. The burrow of gopher is smaller than that of groundhog.
