How To Stay Happy All The Time

Can you stay happy all the time, irrespective of whatever happens in your life? Does such a thing exist in reality? Are there any scientific evidences that support this claim that you can stay happy all the time? Well, in fact, you can stay happy!

I do agree that distraction is all pervasive these days. And, there exists, without any doubt, countless things that could actually distract you from your ‘now’ moment. The internet, along with being a good source for a wide array of helpful information, is also the best source of anxiety and depression. Studies reveal that people who spend unlimited time on social networking are less happy than the restricted or non-users.

But there is a solution… There are 6 golden rules you can follow to ensure that you are happy. Happy not superficially, but from within! Happiness is your birthright! You do not have to do any hard work or sacrifice anything to yearn it! It is right within you.

In this ultra busy world filled with chaos, you just forgot that it exists. You feel that it is a precious treasure, the access of which is kind of restricted. But, you were wrong or rather, you were taught wrong. So, let’s take a look at what you can do to remain happy always!

Are you ready?

6 Golden Rules of Happily Ever

  1. Accept yourself completely!

Let’s do an experiment!

Just stand in front of a full-sized mirror and look at your reflection. What do you feel? Are you truly happy the way you are? Be honest with yourself. Nobody is going to ask you or there is no one around to listen to your answer. Are you able to look at yourself, eye to eye, without any kind of criticism?

If you answered yes, then you are one lucky person! But if you answered no, don’t worry! Most of us are the same. In fact, it is the majority! If you look at some of the most prominent personalities who are the pioneers of positive thinking, you will be shocked to know that they also, at one point of time, had the same issue.

We have a problem with ourselves, however beautiful and handsome we look. That small freckle on my nose, those under eye circles, that small kangaroo pouch (well, most of the women would be smiling to themselves now), and the list goes on and on.

Stop judging yourself and accept yourself as such. You are special and unique. There is no one in this world like you other than you. Practice acceptance and embrace who you are.

  1. Become more mindful!

Become aware of your thoughts and the way your mind moves along with the thoughts. It is the monkey mind and it is bound to keep hopping from one thought to the next, endlessly. So be aware of what is going in through your mind!

It takes conscious efforts to become mindful. One of the best ways to become mindful is to start focusing on your breath. We all take breathing for granted, but if you notice carefully, you will realize that your breath is deep when you are calm and shallow when you are tensed and worried.

If you breath is always shallow and fast, it is a signpost that you have to start your mindfulness practice.

Being mindful will help you stay grounded. It will help you let go of the past and stop worrying about the future. And, when you are mindful, you live in the present. You enjoy this moment and you will be experiencing blissful happiness.

  1. Indulge in conscious positive thinking!

Conscious positive thinking comes naturally when you are mindful. In fact, it overlaps. The more positive your thoughts are, the more mindful you will be and the vice versa. Try to find that small speck of light in the dark room. Every moment is like a coin and has two sides. Try to find out the opportunity side or the positive element in a situation.

Let’s say if your boss called up and told you that you are terminated, try to look at the situation as an opportunity for better growth instead of sitting and crying over spilt milk.

  1. Throw your worries into the dustbin!

Worries should go to the trash and not rest inside you. I do agree that is sounds tough, but when you face your worries, you will see that they are just feelings. If you start worrying over small, worthless stuffs, you will only end up attracting more worries. The law of attraction says that you attract what you think. So surrender your worries and let go of them. Face them and tell them that you do not need them.

You could choose to alleviate the burden of your worries, at any given moment, by bringing into your mind a thought or situation that had made you happy before. It will instantly lighten up your mood and bring a smile on your face.

  1. Stay in the now!

There is a saying that goes something like this. “Past is past, future is unknown , but the present is a gift that we get from God”. It is so true. Our thoughts do not rule us. We are the rulers. We have the power to change them. If you mind wanders away from the current moment, take a slow, deep breath and bring it back to the present moment. Stay in the now. Staying in the present moment will keep you happy!

  1. Say “I love myself unconditionally”!

This is my favorite and something I keep doing. Try doing this. Stand in front of a mirror and look at your reflection and say “I love you” with full passion and unconditionally. If you are not able to do it, please relax. Keep practicing daily for 40 days and you will slowly start loving yourself! When you love yourself unconditionally, happiness will surround you!

It is very easy to be happy than to worry. In fact, it takes fewer muscles to smile rather than to frown. So, keep smiling and be happy!

And why not when life loves you unconditionally!
