What is Acne?
Acne is a skin condition wherein the pores get infected due to the proliferation of bacteria. Usually, the cause of bacterial growth is excessive sebum that attracts dust and dirt. Although this is not a very serious skin condition, acne on the chin can mar the appearance of your face and make you feel miserable about your appearance. In extreme cases, acne can lead to depression.
If various acne concealers, medicines and topical creams have failed to fix the acne on your chin, you can resort to using simple ingredients from your kitchen to get rid of this skin condition. Most of these ingredients are natural and do not have any side effects. And, there is anecdotal evidence to show chin acne can easily be cleared with the help of these natural treatments.
Ice
Ice has a soothing effect on the skin. It helps reduce swelling and inflammation caused by the acne. Wrap a few ice cubes in a clean towel. Hold the towel against your chin. Make sure you don’t use the cold compress for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. It will ease the discomfort. Use ice several times during the day. This natural treatment also will get rid of the excessive sebum and dirt accumulated on the chin. It will boost blood circulation to the chin and help fight the infection.
Lemon
Lemons are rich in Vitamin C, making them an ideal home remedy for chin acne. The acidic property of the juice will help dry out the pimples and make your skin less oily. Dip cotton ball in some freshly squeezed lemon juice and gently dab it on the acne. Allow the juice to dry naturally. It is best to leave the juice overnight for best results. Wash the following day with lukewarm water.
Lemon and Cinnamon Powder
Make a paste of cinnamon powder with some fresh lemon juice. Apply the paste on the pimple and let it stay overnight. The following morning, wash your chin and face with lukewarm water. Not only will this help cure chin acne, it also will prevent your chin from acne marks.
Honey
Honey has natural anti-bacterial properties and has been used for ages to cure many different skin afflictions. Acne is one of them. Apply raw, organic honey on your chin with the help of a cotton ball. Let it stand for about 30 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water. It will ease the swelling and also help to fight the infection.
Cucumber
The cooling and soothing effects of cucumber are beneficial for the skin and hence, consuming or applying will help to cure acne on the chin. Cucumber is a rich source of potassium and vitamins A, C and E which are known to be beneficial for the skin. Slice the cucumber and soak it in water for an hour. Strain the liquid. You can either drink the liquid or wash your face with it. Alternatively, you can make the cucumber into a smooth paste and apply it on your face for about 15 minutes. The paste will remove dirt and grime from your face and leave your skin feeling smooth and soft.
Raw Papaya
Raw papaya is replete with enzymes and has anti-oxidizing properties. As a result, it can ease inflammation and exfoliate the skin to get rid of clogged pores. You can rub a piece of raw papaya on your chin or extract the juice from the papaya and extract it on your chin. The result will be smooth, oil-free skin.
Apart from these home remedies, make sure you drink at least eight glasses of water per day to flush out toxins from your body. Together, this will help you get rid of chin acne and give you a smooth, zit-free skin.
